Poblete Dermatology believes in the importance of education and training in the treatment of our patients.
We regularly attend dermatological conferences and other scientific meetings to stay up to date with the latest in general and cosmetic dermatology.

Maria Veronica R. Abello-Poblete, MD, FAAD
Dr. Abello-Poblete is a Board-Certified Dermatologist who has a broad experience in treating skin conditions that she brings in from her extensive training in Medicine and Dermatology. She completed her Dermatology Residency at Rutgers University, New Brunswick NJ, and was the chief resident during her final year. She is currently a volunteer Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Rutgers University. She's an active consultant in the department of Dermatology in Princeton Health Penn Medicine. She also completed 2 years of a post-doctoral fellowship at Rockefeller University, NYC where was part of multiple publications on psoriasis. She also completed a Family Medicine residency in UMDNJ at Capital Health Systems.
Dr. Poblete also teaches family medicine and dermatology residents from RWJUH. She has given CME talks and workshops for their conferences and continuously trains them in her office.
Emily K. Smith, PA-C
Emily Smith is one of our certified Physician Assistants. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Loyola University Maryland and then earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Keiser University. She began her career as a Physician Assistant working in Urgent Care where she encountered many dermatological conditions in various age groups. Emily brought that experience with her to our practice where she was additionally trained in performing procedures such as laser hair removal, KTP, and microneedling/PRP. She is certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
Claudia K. Van Saders, RN
Claudia is our office manager and Registered Nurse who has extensive experience and knowledge in caring for dermatology patients. She has worked in the field of dermatology for more than 20 years, working as a research nurse, where she was part of multiple publications in psoriasis and later on appointed as Manager of Clinical Operations in the department of Dermatology in Rutgers, New Brunswick. She enjoys interacting with patients and takes pride in being able to assist them whether in getting their phototherapy treatment, injections, non invasive body contouring, microdermabrasion or getting registered for iPledge. We are very fortunate to have her in our team.
Chloe Lavell, PA-C
Chloe is a certified Physician assistant specializing in Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology. She graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteophatic Medicine, Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. She enjoys seeing medical dermatology patients and has experience in cosmetic dermatology, combining medicine and artistry for treatments such as laser hair removal, KTP, microneedling and PRP. She continues to take courses and attend seminars by the industries top leaders to provide her patients with the utmost care. She is certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
Yesenia Pena, MA-C
Jessy completed her training as a Medical Assistant in Fortis Institute with strong recommendations from her mentors due to her consistent professionalism, competence and compassion during her time of training. She has proven to be an invaluable member to our practice, not only because of her competence but also because of her ability to speak fluent English and Spanish which helps a lot of our patients express themselves better.
Camille Bustamante
Camille works as a scribe/ medical assistant. She is soon to be a public health graduate in 2022 and desires a career in dermatology. She is quick to learn, eager to help and always with a ready smile. We're very excited to have her join our team!

Jenna Diaz, MA
Jenna completed her Medical Assistant training in Harris School of Business and has worked in various specialties of Medicine which contributes to her experience in patient care. She is very focused and enjoys new challenges. Besides assisting the dermatologist and our physician assistant with procedures and extensive medical documentation, she has the ability to cross train to assist with appointment scheduling. Due to her versatility and ambition, she is an excellent new addition to our practice.
Lisa Valenzuela
Lisa is our excellent patient service representative with extensive knowledge about insurance, billing, and front desk workflow. With years of medical billing experience and customer service, she is an excellent resource for patients regarding administrative, billing, and insurance questions. She is also a great resource for the clinical staff in being able to communicate any questions or answers that patients may have. She is an excellent patient liaison between the patient and the clinical staff.
Rita is our Patient Service Representative and is known for her very bubbly personality. She has five years of experience in patient care and loves every minute of it to this day.She has completed her Medical Assistant training in Harris School of Business.She had previously worked for an Internal Medicine doctor for three years. Her goal is to make sure every patient’s needs are fulfilled and that they have a good experience here at Poblete Dermatology. She is a great asset to the team!
Rebecca Butler
Becca has over 9 years of experience in the hospitality and customer service. As our Patient Service Representative, she does an excellent job communicating with our patients and providers. We are excited to have her join our team!
